To place the veneers on your teeth, the dentist must first remove a small portion of the front tooth surface, about the thickness of an egg shell. Once this is complete, the process begins with the dentist taking a digital impression of your tooth, which is transmitted to a computer that guides a special machine equipped with diamond-tipped milling tools. This computerized mill can carve your veneers precisely and quickly from a single block of porcelain. Next, a special adhesive is placed on the tooth before the dentist places the veneer. Once the veneer is secured to the tooth, the dentist may make some last-minute touch-ups to the veneer to ensure it fits properly. Finally, you can leave the dentist’s office with an amazing new smile.
